Morgade to Airexe (3 days to Santiago)

We started walking today at 8:30 am. It was refreshing to sleep until 7:30. Breakfast at the albergue was nice – I had a croissant, banana, tarta de Santiago (a sweet cake) and took a granola bar and Jamon/tomato bocadillo “para llevar” (to go).

Our walk started at the 102km marker. The markers were every few hundred meters until we arrived at the 100,000 km mark (a comma in Europe is equivalent to a period in America. Don’t ask me why…). Just like that, we are 100km from Santiago. Today we walked 27 to the 75km mark and for our last 3 days we will walk 30, 30, 15. I am looking forward to the sunrise over Santiago as we walk in our last day, but I’m trying to slow down my time in every way possible.

The group grew today. Dad got a warm welcome!
An extra from our night in Morgade. The only American in the group was the only one who had never seen “American Pie.” I get a daily reminder
