Remy’s 2023 Travel Notebook

The hike today once again blew my expectations out of the water. It was scenic like our day 1 in the Pyrenees. The energy in the group was contagious! We got to Samos and stayed at a small albergue next to a castle. It is 6:30 am the next day and I am typing this up as we walk. We had a bed bug infestation in Samos that we unfortunately didn’t realize until now. They were all over the walls, some on the beds, and many of us found blood in our sheets. I more or less expected this when getting closer to Sarria (we will be there in 2 hours) because of it’s popularity as a starting point and the hordes of people. Oh well, we will check our clothes and bags at one of our breaks. At least my bag didn’t touch the bed, and I slept in Permethrin treated clothes.
